Content Policy
Last updated September 9, 2026
Kwest is meant to be played out loud, with other people in the room. Keep what you put into it — display names and clue suggestions — something you would be happy to read aloud to that room.
Where this applies
To everything a player can submit: the display name shown on leaderboards, and clue suggestions sent to us for review. Words, clues and artwork we write ourselves are covered by the Terms and Conditions instead.
What is not allowed
- Hate and harassment. Slurs, or content attacking people over race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
- Sexual content. Pornographic or sexually explicit material, and anything sexualising a minor.
- Violence and self-harm. Threats, glorification of violence, or encouragement of suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
- Illegal and dangerous content. Promotion of illegal activity, regulated goods, or instructions likely to cause real harm.
- Private information. Real names, addresses, phone numbers, emails or anything else that identifies a real person, including yourself.
- Infringing content. Anything you do not have the right to submit, including trademarks and copyrighted text.
- Spam and impersonation. Advertising, links, bulk submissions, or names that impersonate Kwest staff or another player.
How submissions are reviewed
Clue suggestions go into a review queue and never appear in the game until a moderator approves them. Display names are checked automatically and may be reviewed by a moderator afterwards. We may reject, edit or remove anything that breaks this policy, and we do not have to explain each decision individually.
Consequences
Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may remove the content, reset a display name, stop accepting submissions from an account, or suspend the account entirely. Serious cases — anything involving a minor, or a credible threat — may be reported to the relevant authorities.
Reporting something
If you see content in Kwest that breaks this policy, email support@kwestapp.com with the level or name involved and a screenshot if you have one. We review reports and act on the ones that need it.
Appeals
If you think we got a removal or suspension wrong, reply to us at support@kwestapp.com from the device involved and tell us why. A person will look at it again.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Continuing to submit content after a change means the updated policy applies.
